Our Heritage & Principles
Selous Partners draws its name from the founder’s hunting experiences in Tanzania’s Selous Game Reserve and the legacy of Frederick Courteney Selous—hunter, explorer, conservationist, and soldier who built his reputation in Africa’s most unforgiving terrain. The elite units that later carried his name became legendary for doing more with less: deploying small teams, leveraging superior intelligence, and taking decisive action where larger forces couldn’t operate.
Founder Ford Schwing carried those principles from the bush in Tanzania to Western Africa as a Marine Corps officer. Operating in high-stakes environments, he built partnerships with host-nation militaries—environments that rewarded deep preparation, adaptability, and trust earned through consistent follow-through. Those experiences directly shape how Selous Partners operates today.

We acquire properties with private capital and close without lender involvement. No appraisal delays, no loan committees, and zero last-minute retrading.
Accelerated Due Diligence & Closing
Standard timeline is 30 days of diligence and 30 days to close (60 days from PSA to funded transaction), with the ability to compress further when required. Our legal, tax, and inspection teams mobilize on Day 1.
Direct Principal Access
There is no layer between the decision-maker and the deal. Brokers reach the principal directly, and sellers get answers the same day.

How We Work With Brokers
We know your reputation is on the line every time you bring a buyer to a seller. We treat that with the utmost seriousness.
When we receive an offering memorandum, we review it promptly and respond with a clear yes, no, or specific follow-up questions—never silence. If we submit an LOI, we have the capital and the intent to close. We don’t tie up listings to renegotiate later. Our goal is simple: to be the buyer you call first because you know the deal will actually cross the finish line.
